Superscript Generator

Type text to make copyable superscript letters and numbers. For formulas, choose marked notation to raise only the parts you mark.

Convert supported letters, numbers and signs as you type. Unsupported characters stay. For an equation such as 2x², choose the formula example.

Choose exactly what changes

Every digit changes all ASCII digits. To leave coefficients and other numbers alone, use Marked notation and write 2x^2. Braces can enclose supported letters and signs, as in x^{n+1}. The tool does not check the meaning of an equation or chemical formula.

Copyable characters, with limits

This tool substitutes Unicode characters rather than applying rich-text formatting. Digits have a complete mapping. Letter coverage is partial: superscript supports some capitals; subscript keeps capitals unchanged. Accented characters, emoji and unsupported scripts remain intact. Appearance and search or screen-reader behavior depend on the app where you paste.

Frequently asked questions

Why did some characters stay unchanged?

Only characters in the supported mapping are replaced. There is no lowercasing or removal of unsupported text. An unsupported or incomplete marked span stays literal, including its marker.

Can I use this for a formatted document?

For editable equations or accessible document notation, use your editor’s native superscript formatting or equation tools. These outputs are plain Unicode text.
