Random Letter Generator

Pick one letter or a list. Choose a language, adjust the letters included, and copy the result.

Language

Choose 1–26 letters. Case variants count as the same letter. Each new draw starts from the included letters.

Letters included (26)

Tap a letter to remove it. Tap it again to bring it back.

Type or paste letters, with or without spaces or commas. Adding letters creates a custom pool, keeping the forms shown here. Mixed-case previews use lowercase.

Each included entry has the same chance. Adding it twice gives it no extra weight. Up to 200 entries.

How to generate random letters

  1. Choose a language and the number of letters. Select uppercase, lowercase or mixed case when available. Mixed case chooses upper or lower separately for each letter.
  2. Open Letters included to remove letters, add your own, or combine language sets. Leave No repeats checked to use each included entry at most once in this draw.
  3. Select Generate letters, then Copy result. Copies use plain text with spaces between letters. After changing settings, generate again to update the result.

About your letter pool

How does No repeats work?

It prevents repeats within one draw. Each new draw starts from all included letters again. Every included entry has the same chance; letters are not weighted by how often they are used in a language. In a language preset, uppercase and lowercase forms count as the same entry. Choose up to 100 letters per draw; without repeats, the selected pool must contain enough entries. Turn No repeats off to allow the same entry more than once.

Can I choose my own letters or mix languages?

Yes. Open Letters included to remove or restore letters. Adding your own letters or another language creates a custom pool from the forms shown. The case selector is no longer used: A and a are separate entries. Mixed-case previews show lowercase forms, so those are kept when you create a custom pool. Adding the same entry again gives it no extra chance. A pool holds up to 200 entries, including letters you have deselected. Refreshing the page resets your pool and result.

Which letter forms are included?

Letters included shows the exact set used for the draw. Hebrew starts with 22 letters; Include final letters adds ך ם ן ף ץ. Greek final sigma is an option for lowercase output. Some languages also have controls for accented forms. These are selectable sets of letter forms, not a claim that every language has one fixed alphabet size.

The language presets are derived from Unicode CLDR 49 exemplar sets. About CLDR exemplar sets
