About Gate2Home

Type in any language, from any computer, without installing anything.

What is Gate2Home?

Gate2Home is a free virtual keyboard that runs in your browser. Pick a language, click the keys on screen or use your physical keyboard, and the correct characters appear. No downloads, no sign-ups, nothing to install.

Gate2Home has been online since 2006, serving millions of users over nearly two decades. It currently supports over 170 keyboard layouts covering languages such as Arabic, Hebrew, Farsi, Russian, Hindi, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and many more.

Who uses it?

Anyone who needs to type in a language their physical keyboard does not support. That includes people writing in their native language from a shared or borrowed computer, travelers at internet cafes, students working on foreign-language assignments, and professionals who communicate in multiple scripts.

Why not just change your system keyboard?

Changing keyboard settings requires admin access, affects every application on the computer, and can be confusing to undo, especially on a shared, borrowed, or public machine. Gate2Home works instantly in any browser tab without touching your system settings. Nothing is installed, nothing persists after you close the tab.

Privacy

Everything you type stays in your browser. Gate2Home does not store, transmit, or log your keystrokes. There are no accounts, no tracking of what you type, and no data sent to our servers. For more details, see our privacy policy.

Built-in tools

After typing, you can use your text right away without copy-pasting elsewhere. Gate2Home includes built-in tools such as web search via Google, translation, composing and sending email, and looking up Wikipedia articles, all in the language you typed.

Works on any device

Gate2Home works on desktops, laptops, tablets, and phones. The virtual keyboard adapts to your screen size, so you can type in any language on the go. No app download required.

Interface languages

The site interface is available in 11 languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Arabic, Hebrew, Russian, Hindi, Korean, Farsi, and Urdu.
